Hello InfluenceSD Finalists!

#influenceSD is all about you-- our finalists! Everyone who made it to the final round worked their tail off and for that we congratulate you. You are truly the people's choice champions. April 7^th is all about announcing the winner in each category.

Here are a few details we want to make you aware of:

• As a finalist you will have wristbands that will give you floor access-- we want you sitting front and center, lower level. Make sure to the venue enter via the VIP/Finalist line.
• NBC, Fox, 944 are just a few of the press outlets covering this event, so be sure to bring your A-game. Get there early, there is a red carpet event starting at 6:15pm. The media will have press packets with your info.

Winners:

• If you happen to win on Wednesday, please be prepared to say a few words. Don't be shy about showing your appreciation for your community or team. Please limit your remarks to 2 minutes or less- otherwise we will be forced to kick you off stage ;-)
• To make your acceptance speech make your way to the right side of the stage and from their you’ll be assisted up the stairs.

We are so excited about this event and we can't wait to see you all there on April 7th at Anthology!

The evening will be hosted by Amanda Coolong of TechZulu with celebrity presenters such as Sam the Cooking Guy. A percentage of proceeds from the evening will benefit Father Joe's villages in San Diego. We hope you will join us for what we know is going be a special evening.

03.17.2010 – SAN DIEGO -- More than 315 individuals and companies have been nominated to date in the inaugural #influenceSD awards launched this month. The awards will recognize and celebrate the most influential members of the San Diego social media community. This is the first and only recognition event in San Diego for the growing social media space.

We wanted to give you a recap of a few important updates this week.

First, and most importantly, we welcome Father Joe as the official charity of #influenceSD. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Father Joe and his team at the event on April 7th. Please show your support by following them on Twitter.

On an operational level, you may have noticed our site got some minor improvements. We've enabled comments, which has an important side effect. If you click on the comment links on any entry, you can view a unique URL just for that nomination. We hope this will make it easier for your fans and friends to vote you up.  

You'll also noticed we've added Search. It's pretty functional, I've been able to find most nominees without fail and it's a really good way to navigate the voting site. And finally, we've migrated from the slinkset domain to vote.influencesd.com. Hooray! We assure you forwards are in place so no URLs will return errors. Moving forward, you'll want to use the new URL though.

Last but not least, tickets will be going on sale for nominees on Monday morning. We will be releasing a small batch of floor seats to nominees only. You will get a password that will allow you to purchase up to (4 tickets) 6 tickets. We will  designate the seating by category, so you will likely sit by those you're nominated with. 

We can't accommodate all of the 200+ nominees with floor seating, so you'll want to jump on tickets right away if being on the floor is important to you. General Admission (second floor seating) will go on sale to general public March 8th.
